The Crab Soup Cook off was great! We had a beautiful day, the soups were delicious and everyone had a fantastic time. We had nearly 600 people sample soups from our 10 local restaurants and vote for their favorite.
Participating restaurants were: Casino at Ocean Downs, Eagle’s Landing, Fager’s Island, Lazy River Saloon, Marina Deck, Mother’s Cantina, Phillips, Pickles, Seacrets and Shrimp Boat.
The bands, Go With The Flow and One Night Stand, provided a lively atmosphere and kept the Somerset Plaza crowd entertained as well as those passing by on the boardwalk.
Tootsie Roll the Clown was there with face painting and balloons for the kids.
Several non-profit organizations were also in attendance, supplying information on various programs and events – Surf Riders, Ocean City Beach Patrol, American Legion, Eastern Shore Heritage Foundation, John Hopkins Children’s Center, Susan G. Komen, Ocean City Life Saving Museum.
Thanks to Lisa Aydolette for putting it all together, and to all our volunteers – Vi Candeloro, Lauren Taylor, Charlie Deal, Anita Papa, Terry Aydolette, George and Glen Phillips, Vickie Barret, Tom and Cookie Allen, Nancy Howard, Sheyl Sallow, Tiffany Phillips, Joe Manganello, Brian McCarthy, Brooks Trimper, Kevin Kibbs and our 3 students from Stephen Decatur.
