The Downtown Association is asking for your help to bring the holiday spirit back to downtown Ocean City. The decorations at the South end of the city and the Inlet beach used to be a treat for locals and visitors alike. Over the years, all the festivities have moved to Northside Park. The Park has a wonderful display, but we feel there should be something to mark the holiday season downtown as well.
In 2012, along with OCDC and the Town of Ocean City, we launched our campaign to Light Up Downtown with a series of programs in Sunset Park. The evenings featured a tree lighting, local performers, horse and carriage rides, baked goods, hot chocolate and Santa. We continue this tradition with our Light Up Downtown Festival every November on the Boardwalk.
We hope you enjoyed the decorations below.
The city has agreed to install the displays and provide storage and electricity, but we are asking for your help in purchasing them. The large, weather-proof displays that are needed cost several thousand dollars each.
We would appreciate your financial support at any level.
If you purchase a display, a sign with your name will accompany it throughout the season and you will be listed on all advertising for the event.
If you would like to help out, but are unable to purchase a display on your own, we still welcome and appreciate your donation in any amount.
Contributions can be combined to purchase a larger display or purchase lights for the main tree and area surrounding Sunset Park.
Donations are tax-deductable.
